Measure growth by counting successful results
Sequence3 was started in 2004 as a platform for displaying interface design projects created by me, Michael Long, in collaboration with companies located in Seattle and Austin.
My professional experience started in July 2001 where I got my first freelancing gig at a media company in the Seattle area. But, like many other kids of the 80's, my discovery of interactive media began well before 2001: It was that first time I used a computer in elementary school, skipping recess to draw cars and airplanes in MacPaint, and rock HyperCard. Since childhood I have been deeply fascinated by the fact we can instantly create and transmit ideas through machines.
During college I explored professional photography, color and b/w darkroom printing; getting paid to do whatever I could to combine technology and image manipulation. It was experimenting with open source desktop environments—KDE, GNOME and GNUstep—that reignited my obsession with human-computer-interaction and the immediacy of sharing ideas through computer networks.
